Project History: My first trip to the Bighorn was in 1995 with a great friend Merle. Our guide Gale had us up at 4am to launch at the Afterbay and claim the best spot for the morning. After waiting for the sun to rise while sipping coffee, the action started. It was like every fish in the river was rising. After a couple of hours of trying to see my tiny fly I was humbled but hooked.

Fast forward to 2009. Living in Billings and guiding when I could get trips, I stayed in a friend’s old trailer he called the Pink Petunia. In searching for another housing option, the opportunity to buy this parcel came up. Because the water and sewer utility was in need of replacement, it took 15 years to be allowed to develop the property. After building relationships within the town and help from my Bobcat-driving dad, we are finally able to bring these lots to market. Ft. Smith is a special place to me and so many others. My hope is to thoughtfully develop this land for others to enjoy it and create their own lasting memories together.

The developer respectfully acknowledges that this land is part of the traditional homeland of the Crow (Apsáalooke) Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have long inhabited this region. We honor their history, culture, and ongoing contributions as an important and vital part of the local community.
